Upon returning from Easter, Southies were faced with summative deadlines, exam revision, and exams themselves. Study spaces were impossible to find, South library becoming bustling, and the Billy B filling up.
At the start of Easter term, South hosted snap elections for JCR positions that had not yet been filled, leading to a new Treasurer and Bar Steward for the 2024/5 academic year.
After exams the fun of Summer term was in full swing. An amazing South Day took place on the 3rd of June – a full review can be found in this edition. At South Day students got to hear a preview of the amazing musical Oswald’s Players performed on the 8th and 11th of June. Both musical dates saw a great turnout, with the cast’s talent shining through. The Owl Society Dinner was bustling and Vice-President Amy Shuttleworth produced a superb last formal. The Ball committee worked hard to provide you with an excellent celebration on the 14th of June. The event was held at Hardwick Hall and was a night of rides, food and fun.
Compass Charity Fashion Show has already raised thousands for St Cuthbert’s Hospice, ahead of their big night. The fashion show will take place on the 17th of June and will be a night of fashion and fun – an unmissable event for all Southies. ∎
